Glastonbury Public Schools is committed to helping students become responsible digital citizens. The guidelines below are aligned with our district's goals. They promote active learning and prioritize student well-being.

K-5 students will no longer take iPads home on a daily basis. K-5 iPads will remain students on carts in classrooms for student use as appropriate.
To complete specific homework tasks, iPads may begin to travel home with students in grades 4 and 5 as directed by the teacher.
Families will not need to purchase insurance for K-3 school-issued iPads.
Student screen-time during school hours will be limited to appropriate learning activities and monitored by teachers.
As iPad lease renewals expire, the 1:1 iPad initiative may be reduced to a shared model in those grades where curricular needs are limited.

In grades 2 and 3, teachers guide student iPad use. Students will engage in traditional learning, while also learning how to use apps on the iPad to expand and enhance their lessons.
