Securly Web Filtering

Securly Filter is a cloud-based web filter designed for K-12 schools to help keep students safe.

Filtering at School and at Home

Securly will filter devices while they are at school and home. Glastonbury Public Schools maintains several web filter settings on your child’s iPad.

We block specific content categories (e.g., social media, gambling, and chat/messaging websites).
We enforce the safe search feature for our allowed search engines (Google, Bing, and Yahoo).
We monitor flagged activities (e.g., activities related to self-harm or bullying).

Role of the Family

The web filter is not a replacement for family involvement. We encourage parents and guardians to regularly monitor their children’s internet activity.

For students using iPads, parents should know the passcode.
For students using Chromebooks, parents should know the student's GPS email password.
Frequently check what your child is downloading and accessing on the device.
Talk with your child and ask about content/apps on their devices and how they are using them.

Securly Home for Families

At this time, Glastonbury Public Schools has enabled the Offline Schedules and Pause the Internet features for families.

Register for Securly Home You must use a Mobile Device

The Securly Home app allows families to control their child’s school device when it goes home.

Click on this SecurlyHome Parent LogIn Link and then enter the email address that is in our PowerSchool system to register with Securly Home.

Offline Schedules

Families can set specific time schedules for the device's internet access while it is away from school. Families can customize weekday and weekend wake and sleep times.

Q: I see that other features such as rules and activity feed are part of the Securly Home app, but I cannot access them.

A: Glastonbury Public Schools is currently assessing additional features for possible use in the future.
