Kindergarteners and first graders will have access to a cart of iPads housed in the school Library Media Center. Use will be limited to coding lessons, assessments, and unique learning opportunities at teacher discretion.
Students in grades 2-5 will use iPads that are kept on classroom carts during the school day.
In general, elementary student iPads do not go home. Accommodations may be made to support specific student needs.
Families will not need to purchase insurance for devices in grades K-5.
Student screen-time during school hours will be limited to appropriate learning activities and monitored by teachers.
Our district is transitioning to Chromebooks as iPad lease renewals expire. More information will be shared with families.

In grades 2 and 3, teachers guide student iPad use. Students will engage in traditional learning, while also learning how to use apps on the iPad to expand and enhance their lessons.

Second and third-grade students will use iPads to support inquiry and skill practice. Teachers will guide students in the use of age-appropriate educational apps. Each second grade class has access to 5-6 shared iPads. Each third grade class has a class set of iPads.

- iPad Camera for science lab/engineering tasks or digital collage
- SeeSaw for portfolios, reflections, and learning tasks
- World Book Kids and other databases for research
- Interim Assessment practice for SmarterBalanced (for Grade 3)
